The world of being grateful is one that we are trained to be in. If you don't have what you want in your life, our gurus, personal development leaders, friends and family tell us to have more gratitude - be more grateful and more will come.
I found that my current experience of life was that I was always thanking people for everything, and being forever grateful either out loud or in my head for everything. By doing this, I acknowledged others, yet lost power. When I really looked at my life, I realised that I made concessions for others and myself as I was being grateful for whatever I had, even if it wasn't the best or all that it could be.
Yes, I have a lot that I am truly grateful for. Yet the question in front of us all is... how do we transform the level of grateful to move to the next domain of creating and having true abundance in every area of life?
Instead of holding hands and singing kum-bi-ya I explored this with my Simon - my fiance. We explored what could be missing... a way of being that if it were there would create the experience of life we truly want. In our conversation I worked out that BEING DESERVING was what was missing.
Being deserving incorporates being grateful AND allows us to want and expect more from life, each other and everything. How inspiring - how powerful and creative. I felt free, able and less beholden to the current reality. I could make new choices based on a new context. I did within minutes of figuring this out. Much to my Simon's amazement and delight.
Question for you.... What if you were being deserving? What would be possible for you - what would you ask for, expect and create in your life, work and relationships?

Talk to a Stranger - why not !
Tonight I ran a NEW Networking game for 160 business professionals in downtown Sydney at the Australian Institute of Management. The event was awesome and so many people came up to me at the end as they were excited about what they learned about networking AND what they had applied.
The key to networking is that you MUST do it. Being in action creates results. Thinking about what to do or what you should have done keeps you stuck.
The challenge I gave to the event's participants was... go and talk to a stranger in a place where you work, go for lunch or regularly go. Pick someone you don't know and say hello. You just never know what opportunity that may create now or in the future.
